The Italian composer Errico Petrella wrote one Messa funebre per la morte di Angelo Mariani, in 1873.
Angelo Mariani (11/10/1821 - 13/06/1873) was a famous Italian conductor and composer, who was supposed to conduct the Messa per Rossini, which never took place (until 1988, on June 22 in Parma, conducted by Helmuth Rilling.)
