Erling Ditlev [Erling] Bjerno (25/12/1929 - 24/08/2019) is a Danish, self-taught pianist and composer. He made his debut with his first symphony in 1961. He was organist of the Ansgar Kirke in Aalborg from 1967 - 1996. He was a teacher of the Nordjysk Musikkonservatorium. He wrote chamber music, works for chorus, theater, radio, television, five symphonies, oratoria, masses and cantata's. Erling D. Bjerno was a Danish composer and organist. Bjerno has written music for theater performances and the radio theater. In addition, there is an extensive production of church music. Bjerno was self-taught and distinguished himself as a composer with special sensitivity to the words in a number of songs and choral works. In addition to five symphonies, Bjerno wrote the humorous church opera Until Death Separates You (1979).
