Paul Huber (17/02/1918 - 25/02/2001), a Swiss composer, born in Kirchberg. He studied at the conservatory of Zürich. He composed more than 400 pieces: chamber music, organ music, etc. He is doctor honoris causa of the university of Freiburg since 1979.

This Requiem is his opus 32. It is for soli, choir, organ and orchestra. There is a cd-release of this requiem from 1993 with: Chor der St. Hedwigs-Kathedrale Berlin Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen, Director: Alois Koch, recorded: 27. June 1993 in The Cathedral of St. Gallen. This is a shortened version of the 1956-version and has been performed at the 75th birthday of the composer.
