Reinhold Meurer (05/12/1947), a German composer; Organist of the Court Church of the Würzburg Residence 1989 - 2023 Founder and choir director of the Cappella Herbipolensis (1970); awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his services to church music; Court church of the Würzburg Residence as well as for youth work and activities in the wine-growing association and in Agenda 21 Retzstadt.
He was born in Flörsheim am Main, schooled in Würzburg, graduated from high school there in 1967. High school, private training in piano, cello and singing, studying harmony, Counterpoint and composition with Prof. Hummel at the University of Music, studied Musicology and teaching at elementary schools - temporarily a member of the cathedral choir, the Würzburger Theater-Extrachores, the Würzburger Liedertafel - founder of the CAPPELLA HERBIPOLENSIS in 1970, since then leader of this ensemble (various records or CD recordings).
