S. Jones
Stuart Jones (1964), an American composer, teacher and conductor, born in Pittsburgh. He maintains active careers in both music and software engineering. He earned a Doctorate in Musical Arts at Columbia University as a Mellon Fellow and has previously studied both music and computer science at the Florida State University and SUNY-Stony Brook. His composition teachers include Arthur Berger, Mario Davidovsky, Fred Lerdahl, John Lessard and Armand Qualliotine.
Stuart Jones is a Boston-based composer of concert hall chamber music. His music has recently been performed by the LUMEN Contemporary Music Ensemble, the New York New Music Ensemble and the Omega Ensemble, among other contemporary music groups. His music is "magnificently crafted" (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette).
