David Golding (08/11/1982), an American composer, from Riverside (California).
Golding: "The music of the renaissance, especially the motet, appeal to me most. My works include mainly the motet with influences from William Byrd, Josquin des Prez, and J. S. Bach. I've been self-taught, studying the works of J. S. Bach and other renaissance composers, such as Josquin Des Prez, William Byrd, Palestrina, and others, especially the theoretical writings of Arnold Shoenberg and Johann Fux. I am currently a student at Brigham Young University and am the administrator of PianoPublicDomain.com. I prefer composition, but also am an accomplished pianist and guitarist. My latest work, "Lament on the Death of Christ" will follow a similar pattern to Pie Jesu and will begin a set of Requiem pieces depicting the lamentations of others, including Joseph, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, John the Baptist, and Stephen."
