László Halmos (10/11/1909 - 27/01/1997) was born in Nagyvárad, Hungary. He was a Professor at the Theological College and at the State Conservatory, and served as choir master of the Cathedral of Gyór in Northwestern Hungary. His life work includes several hundred choral pieces, songs, chamber music, oratorios, cantatas, and works for organ and for orchestra.
