Giovanni Battista Grillo (c.1570 - 1662), an Italian composer. Giovanni Battista Grillo was an Italian composer and organist. Little is known about Grillo until he was elected organist to the Venetian confraternity 'Scuola Grande di S Rocco' on 28 August 1612. This was a prominent position in the musical life of the city. Also, he was appointed the first organist of San Marco on 30 December 1619. He died in Venice. He collaborated with Francesco Usper, pupil of Monteverdi.

In an account of a requiem performed in Venice in 1621 at a memorial service for the late Duke of Tuscany, Cosimo II de’ Medici, Giulio Strozzi refers to music (now lost) by Monteverdi and his colleagues Giovanni Battista Grillo and Francesco Usper, including solo vocal items and an instrumental sinfonia at the start of the ceremonies and recurring during the introit.
