R. Real
Ramiro Real (1969), a Spanish composer. He was born in Valladolid (Spain). He did his musical studies at Valladolid Music Conservatoire. He made complementary studies with such professionals as Néstor Andrenacci, Josep Prats (choral conducting), Juan María Esteban (orchestra conducting), Josep Cabré, Amaro González de Mesa (performance methods) He has performed many concerts as piano accompanist with Valladolid University Choir. He founded and conducts chamber choir Coro Piccolo. He has composed works for several vocal and instrumental ensembles which are performed throughout the world. Nowadays he combines his composing and conducting activities with his job as music teacher.

This Requiem is composed for 4 voices (SATB) and has the following movements:

This Requiem is homophonic written for four Voices (SATB) in a pleasant modest modern style between April 1993 and November 1995. The Dies Irae is split up by the composer in six parts. The “mors stupebit” part of the Dies Irae is written for (SAATB). The Agnus Dei I is set for (TBB) followed by Agnus Dei II and III set for (SATBB) and ends in a hopeful C accord (SSAATTBB)! No Tractus setting is found. Nevertheless this Requiem-setting can be used by a trained Church-choir in the Services.
