V.K. Holan Rovensky
Václav Karel [Václav] Holan Rovenský (1644 - 27/02/1718), a Czech composer; born and died in Rovensko pod Troskami, Czechoslovakia. He was the representative of the Czech midbaroque. After finishing at the Jesuit college in Jicín he became choirmaster and organist in several places. His last post was that of organist at Prague Vysehrad chapter. He finally left it to became a hermit and sculptor in his native country. During his life he collected around 900 songs (including his own) published in 1693 in large songbook Capella Regia Musicalis - The Royal Chapel of Songs.

Holan Rovensky wrote a Ceske rekviem (Czech requiem), a solo church cantata with accompaniment.
