Father Gregor / Gregorio Maria [Franz] Zahlfleisch O.F.M. (29/01/1854 - 22/01/1920) an Austrian organist, composer (born in Innsbruck, died in Schwaz/T. Cleric) He Was invested in the Franciscan monastery in Salzburg in 1870 and was ordained a priest six years later. As a result, Z. lived in the monasteries in Telfs, Schwaz (1898, 1914–20), Kaltern (Caldaro/I; 1899–1906) and Innsbruck (1907–13); He worked as an organist everywhere. He was considered an authority on Tyrolean church music of his time; in 1908, on his recommendation, J. Gasser received the position of monastery choir regent in Wilten. Z.'s compositions also found their way into albums (for harmonium) and collections (with Marian songs or Pange lingua settings) published by I. Mitterer and V. Goller.
