Messe di Requiem
Moneta's requiem is dramatic and operatically conceived, and is specially notable for making extensive use of instrumental introductions to various movements, almost in the nature of curtain-raisers; it is one of the earliest settings to do so to such a degree. The vocal writing is florid.
