Johann Joseph [Joseph] Klauss (27/03/1775 - 01/03/1834), a German philosopher and composer, born and died in Seelendorf. Organist, pupil of Anton Kretschmer at Grunau, near Ostritz ; and in his ninth year was able to accompany difficult masses. Called by his father's death to take charge of his business, he still continued his musical studies, and soon became an authority in his art far beyond local limits.
