G. Guasti
Guido Guasti (23/07/1882 - 14/06/1947), an Italian composer, born and died in Prato. Guido Guasti achieved a certain notoriety in Prato in the first decades of the twentieth century for his multiple activities in the field of music. Maestro Guasti was organist of the Cathedral, teacher of music and especially of choral singing. From a very young age, from 1902, the "Guido Monaco" choral society had him among its most passionate supporters. In fact, he was Luigi Borgioli's assistant in the education of the choristers and contributed not a little, under the direction of the same maestro (1902-1931), to the development of the choir. Guido Guasti also directed various operas including the particularly successful "The return of Columella from studies in Padua" at the Teatro Guido Monaco in the 10s. He was director of the "Sant'Ambrogio Choral School".
