29.sep.1788 Bergancini conducted his Messa per Defunti during Festa la Mattina at Chiesa de P.P. Domenicani detta di S. Anastasia in Verona which ended in a disaster because of a terrible foreign professor who used all the possible arts to discredit the composition and maltreated his part so much that Bergancini snatched the part of his hand furiously, after many offensive words against the meastro the singer mumbled away which ended the performance.
