Parce mihi
Period:Classicism
Musical form:lesson
Text/libretto:Latin (leccion Primera De La Vigilia De Difuntos)
Label(s):Urtext UMA 2015
Tomás Ochando wrote a Parce Mihi (Leccion Primera De La Vigilia De Difuntos).
Despite the fact that Ochando's music reveals a prominent figure of the Spanish 18th century, historiography has left the composer almost forgotten. Today there are only two published works, his Mass in D Major and his Office and Mass for the Dead ; and a single recorded piece, the Parce Mihi Domine , first lesson for the departed . Editing and interpreting his music remains an outstanding debt of musicology.
