Robert Adam [Robert] Horne (12/02/1865 - 1956), an Australian Music Salesman, Piano Maker and composer.

Robert Adam Horne was born at Emu Bay (possibly Wynyard) on 27 Jul 1869 to Robert Horne (1830-1919) and his wife Janet Doull (1830-1915). R A Horne was a music salesman and piano maker. He also composed music, including the 'Tasma Waltz', for which he won a first prize at the Tasmanian Exhibition of 1891-92. He dedicated the waltz to S J Sutton Esq., MHA, Executive Commissioner of the Exhibition. It was published by A Munnew, Apollo House, George Street. He also wrote 'Nocturne in A, L'Adieu' and 'Helmet and Plume March', the latter being composed especially for, and dedicated to, the Launceston City Band. On 24 Jul 1887, three days before his eighteenth birthday, Robert Adam married Lillian Everingham in Launceston. They both gave their age as 21. Lydia, as she was known, was a variety artiste with Hudson's Surprise Company. The marriage was short-lived, with Lydia claiming that Robert refused to provide her with a home as he could not afford one. She petitioned for divorce in 1892 without success and supported herself as a barmaid. Lydia moved to Perth, Western Australia, while Robert lived in Rose Street, Hawksburn, Victoria. They were divorced in Aug 1895. Lydia sued for desertion; Robert had written her a letter saying that he did not want to have anything more to do with her. He returned to Launceston and married 28 year old Rosa May Hardman on 17 Feb 1897 at the bride's residence, 24 Frankland Street. They moved to Christchurch, New Zealand, where Rosa died aged 44 on 31 Jul 1912. Robert died aged 87 in 1956.
