R.J. Tello Rojas
Rafael Jose [Rafael] Tello Rojas (05/09/1872 - 17/12/1946), a Mexican composer and pianist. He was director of the Conservatorio Nacional; born and died in Mexico City. He entered the Conservatory in 1884. He was a student of Meneses and Julio Ituarte. He later became Professor of this institution and, later, Director. In addition, he served various administrative and teaching positions at the Normal School, the University and the Ministry of education. In 1942, at a public ceremony held at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, he was appointed "for life teacher" of the Conservatory. It is known to have composed four operas, works for Chamber Orchestra, concert, choral, vocal and religious music.
