Johann Josef [Johann] Veith was born in Ottweiler on June 23, 1872. He did not have an easy childhood with his nine siblings, especially since his father was a simple miner and only had a small farm as an additional source of income to support his family. His mother was particularly talented in art and music. In 1888 - at the age of 16 - Veith went to the “Gregoriushaus” in Aachen, where Fritz Nekes, one of the most important Cecilians, worked as a teacher.] Veith (23/06/1872 - 18/05/1947), a German composer.
