Requiem for an old friend
Period:21st century
Composed in:2000
Musical form:fragment
Text/libretto:Latin mass
Duration:2'
"This movement is for 3 strings plus solo voice (soprano), though other lines could also be sung. Definitely for soloists though, not for a choir. The requiem is about the sadness when a friendship or a love comes to an end - sometimes this is because the friend has died, but it can sometimes be almost as sad when a friendship ends in bitterness for other reasons. I had several particular occasions in mind, not just one, so I can't give a named dedicatee."
