A. Hoban
Ann Hoban (08/11/1969), a female Irish composer, born in Castlebar (Mayo). She received a BA in music from St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, before continuing her studies at the University of Huddersfield. She was a finalist in the Composers’ class of the RTÉ Young Musician of the Future competitions in 1994 and 1996, and was finalist in the Markievitz competition in 1995. Her music has been performed in England and Ireland and recent performances include a Chamber Cello Concerto performed by Concorde and A Movement, recorded and broadcast by the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra. She has received a Composer’s Apprenticeship Award from the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
