In memory of:the victims killed in the Franco-Russian war
Lenepveu wrote this requiem in Bordeaux for the benefit of the widows and orpans of those killed in the Franco-Russian war; fragments of this work given at the Concerts du Conservatoire, 29 March 1872, and at the Concerts Populaires, 11 April 1873, showed an unfortunate tendency in the composer to obtain as much noise as possible.
