Chris Povall (08/11/1984), an English composer, born in Stockport (Manchester).
Povall: "I got into composing in 2001, when we were composing pieces for AS level music at college. Having finished my compositions for the coursework, I went home and wrote a Satie pastiche, and have never really stopped composing since. I'm currently reading Music at Sheffield University where my studies cover composition and compositional techniques, world music and ethnomusicology and electroacoustic music, all of which have begun to influence my work. Musical influences of mine include Schostakovitch, Phillip Glass and Ludovico Einuadi, as well as ideas taken from music around the world and electroacoustic composers."
