Silio Taddei (20th century), an Italian composer.
In 1990, Prof. Lina Taddei established a Foundation with the aim of providing an annual scholarship to honor the memory of her father,Silio Taddei, a distinguished musician who graduated from the Rossini Conservatory of Pesaro under the direction of Maestro Pietro Mascagni.
A few years later, Prof. Taddei decided to identify the Rotary Club of Livorno as the person who could best administer the Foundation through a Board of Directors made up of Rotarians elected by the club Assembly for a term of three years. Following this initiative, the Foundation took the name of " SILIO TADDEI FOUNDATION - ROTARY CLUB LIVORNO" .
Every year, the Foundation announces a competition for a scholarship reserved for holders of a first level diploma, Italian and foreign citizens, obtained in the last two previous years in organ and piano or string instrument at the “G. Rossini” of Pesaro”, L. Cherubini” of Florence, Istituto Musicale “L. Boccherini” of Lucca or by the Istituto Musicale “P. Mascagni” of Livorno.
The scholarship worth 3,500.00 euros allows these young people to perfect their preparation.
The winner will perform in public in a concert organized by the Foundation.
