Joseph Pilland (16/01/1853 - 15/04/1911), a German composer. He came from Wenzenbach near Stadtamhof (Regensburg). He attended school in Regensburg and the teacher training seminar in Eichstätt in 1871. Subsequently, Pilland worked for several years as a primary school teacher and then as a seminar assistant teacher in Amberg. He was transferred in 1878 to the teacher training institute in Eichstätt. He was promoted to senior seminar teacher in 1906. Pilland's works include a "Monophonic Mass with Simple Organ Accompaniment" and several preludes for organ. Joseph Pilland was active in the "Eichstätter Liedertafel" founded in 1861. In December 1887 he was appointed conductor. The chairman at that time was seminar teacher Georg Brandmüller, secretary of the teachers Anton Schneller, cashier bookseller Anton Stillkraut and assessor of the bookbinders Anton Amberger. The 50th anniversary of the choir in 1911 was celebrated with a great musical program.
