Alejandro Monestel Zamora (26/04/1865 - 03/11/1950), a Costa Rican organist and composer; born in San Jose, Costa Rica, studied at the Brussels Conservatory, returned to Costa Rica and became the organist at a cathedral, served as director of the Philharmonic Society, taught at the National School of Music, in 1894 he founded the Music School of St. Cecilia. He worked in The United States between 1901 and 1937. He wrote 5 cantatas, 14 masses, and songs.
