Dr. Jon Drummond (1969) is a Sydney based composer, sound artist, programmer, academic and researcher. He was a composition undergraduate at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music from 1988-1991 studying with Graham Hair, Martin Wesley-Smith, Richard Vella, Greg Schiemer, Trevor Pearce and Gillian Whitehead. His creative work spans the fields of instrumental music, electroacoustic, interactive, sound and new media arts. Jons electroacoustic and interactive work has been presented widely including the International Computer Music Conferences (Denmark 1994, Canada 1995, Greece 1997, China 1999, Singapore 2003), Electrofringe, Totally Huge New Music Festival, Darwin International Guitar Festival and the Adelaide Festival of Arts. Jon is currently employed as a researcher at MARCS Auditory Laboratories, the University of Western Sydney, exploring the practice and application of new interfaces for real-time electronic music performances.
