Bossi wrote an important compilation of works in which organ music plays an important part, like concerts for organ and orchestra. He was one of the most famous organplayers of his days. Together with Giovanni Tebaldini (1864 - 1952) he developed an organ method: Metodo di studio per l'organo moderno (Milan, 1893). Besides he wrote some opera's, orchestral works and important choir music, among which a requiem and the oratorio Giovanna d'Arco.
