Anton Alexander [Anton] Knüppel (17/04/1880 - 08/05/1880). a German organist, church musician and composer. Born in Billerbeck; died in Essen-Altenessen). Since 1907 Anton Knüppel worked as an organist in Essen-Altenessen. Anton Knüppel wrote several hymns and church music works such as the setting of the Pange-lingua hymn, op. 6 for five-part mixed choir and organ (1928), the 14 Fughettes for organ op. 16a (1930) or the Requiem aeternam op. 26 . (1935). On May 1, 1930 he joined the NSDAP.
