The anonymous Proch dolor was written for the funeral of the Habsburg Emperor Maximillian in 1519. It is for 7 voices, with a slow cantus firmis 'Pie Jesu Domine, dona ei requiem. Amen'. One source is the manuscript B–Br 228, where it is the only piece written in black notes.
