Johann Georg Leopold [Leopold] Mozart (14/11/1719 - 28/05/1789), an German composer, from Augsburg, moved to Austria. He wrote an important book: Versuch einer gründlichen Violinschule (Augsburg, 1756), which passed through many editions in several languages and was for long the standard method for the violin. Leopold is the father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791).
