Ernst Ludwig Leitner (14/10/1943), an Austrian composer, born in Wels. 1963: Graduated from the College of Education in Linz. 1963-68: Studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg: organ and composition with Josef Friedrich Doppelbauer, piano with Hedaliese von Haupt-Stummer, cello with Georg Weigl. Musicology studies at the University of Innsbruck. 1967,1968: State examination in music education, diplomas with distinction in organ playing and composition. School leaving prizes of the Ministry of Education. 1967/68: Worked as music teacher at secondary schools in Salzburg and Linz. 1968/69: Lecturer at the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in Graz. Since 1969: Teacher of organ playing and music theory at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. 1973-83: Head of the Music Pedagogy Department at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. 1978: Appointed full professor. 1970-96: Artistic director of the Wels Bach Choir founded by Johann Nepomuk David. 2000: Head of the Department of Conducting, Composition and Music Theory at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg. Documentation of his previous works at the music-collection of the Austrian National Library.
