T. Marusi
Terenziano Marusi (08/10/1868 - 14/12/1936), an Italian composer, born in Vigheffio. He graduated in composition at the Conservatory of music of Parma on 27 Februari 1893. He studied at the Parma Conservatory of Music, where he graduated in composition in 1893. On 27 February. 1893, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Verdi Hall of the Conservatory, one of his Cantatas was performed (per s, choir and orchestra) on a libretto by Michele Caputo. In Oct. 1898 one of his Masses was performed in the Cathedral of Parma. He privately studied piano with Italo Azzoni and organ with Guglielmo Mattioli, graduating in 1913 in Bologna. For many years he directed the sacred functions of the cathedral of Parma and the Steccata. He then went on to direct the musical chapel of Gallarate, where he remained for 6 years, from 1904 he was for 3 years in the basilica of S. Vittore in Varese, to then move on to the Milan Cathedral: of this last activity, however, we have not had he confirms. He composed various sacred music, including a Magnificat a 3 v mixed acc. org (Mi: Goat) and a Requiem Mass . Marusi was also a chess player, he was one of the promoters of the Italian Chess Federation (founded in 1920) and one of the most active advisors. He died in Milan, at the Rest Home for Musicians, on December 14, 1936.
