Ján (Johann / Janos) Nepomuk [Jan] Batka (01/06/1795 - 18/08/1874; some sources: 16/07/1795 - 13/08/1874), an Austrian pianist and composer. Johann Nepomuk Batka, Czech Ján Nepomuk Batka, according to the usual Hungarian name order and spelling Batka János Nepomuk was a Silesian Czech cellist, organist, composer, teacher. His son was János Batka (1845 -1917). Johann Nepomuk Batka was born in: Janowa Góra ( Silesia , Austrian Empire , currently in Poland ), he died in Pozon (Kingdom of Hungary , Austrian Empire , modern-day Bratislava in Slovakia).
