Giovanni Moretti (1807 - 10/1884), an Italian composer; born in Naples, died at Ceglie, near Naples. Dramatic and church composer, pupil at the Naples Conservatorio of P. Casella and G. Elia. He was maestro di cappella at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, and in 1829-57 wrote 22 operas.
