Henri Gagnebin (13/03/1886 - 02/06/1977), a Swiss organist, writer on music and composer. He was born in Liège, Belgium. The University of Geneva bestowed a doctor's degree honoris causa on him.

Jules Baillods (1889-1952), writer, professor and literary critic, was born in Couvet and died in La Chaux-de-Fonds. After the Ecole Normale de Fleurier, he obtained a degree in Letters from the University of Neuchâtel.
Frédéric Liebstoekl (1900-1979) is a concert organizer , journalist and musician from Austria , then Geneva. Friend of Henri Gagnebin.
