Gilbert Große Boymann (1947) a German composer. Initially he studied to be a teacher with the subjects music, history and mathematics; After the 2nd state examination, further studies at the Cologne University of Music (harpsichord and early music with Prof. Hugo Ruf), conducting lessons with Prof. Klaus Pawassar, accompanist at the Cologne Muho for the transverse and recorder classes (Prof. G. Höller) and oboe (Prof. H. Hucke), harpsichordist in the baroque ensembles Musica Antiqua Köln and Musica Fiata Köln, singing lessons with Prof. Hilde Wesselmann, concerts with music for 2 harpsichords together with Gerald Hambitzer, among others, at the International Music Festival in Montreux, basso continuo for the Fux complete edition as for the Klaus Kindler publishing house (Münster/W.).
As a musicologist, he specializes in Italian church music of the 18th century, especially the compositional work of Neapolitan composers. The primary interest here is the composer Francesco Durante and the Scarlatti family. 1995 CD recording with unpublished choral works by Durante (1684-1755), with orchestra or only with basso continuo, released by Thorofon (CTH 2266), now Bella Musica, with the CAPPELLA DURANTE. Among his numerous modern Premieres of previously unknown sacred choral works by important Italian baroque composers include, above all, the complete Messa di Requiem by Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725) together with the Belgian baroque ensemble Ritornello (including in Dendermonde on November 23, 1997), the 4th. Requiem in G by Francesco Durante and his 5stg. Miserere, Durante's last major late work.
