This Messa da morto is for three voices and basso continuo (organ) and is part of his Messe et motetti con una messa da morto, opus 12.

In two sources this Mass of the Dead or Messa da Morte or Officium defunctorum tribus vocibus Joa. Bapt. Cesenae by Giovanni Biondi is published. Biondi sets this Office of the Dead for three equal voices (TTB) with basso continuo and or organ. And those chosen parts are interesting and really rare.
The plainchant movements (Introit, Sequentia, Offertorium and Communio) are set in alternatim pars. The first print of this Officium/Office is from Giacomo Vincenti, Venezia which published in 1609 this edition messe et motetti a tre voci commodissime con una messa da morto, con il basso per l’organo. The second print is from the copyist François-Louis Perne made between about 1800-1810. This seems a reprint from a manuscript-collection by Johann Donfried (c.1585-1650) because we read the following in that manuscript “nota Cette messe est extraite de la Collection de Donfrid no.VI” Translated: Note this mass is an extract out of the collection of Donfried no. VI (correction name by us). The last owner of this Donfried-collection was François-Joseph Fétis (1784-1871).
