Missa pro defunctis
Period:Early Romanticism
Composed in:1825
Musical form:mass
Text/libretto:Latin mass
Just before Amon died, he wrote the music for the prayers in a requiem mass. He knew it would be his last composition and asked if it could be performed at his own funeral service, because he knew he would die soon. And so, the Wallersteiner Kapelle performed the requiem (for 5 voices) at the second service for their director and friend.
