P. Tonassi
Pietro Tonassi (14/09/1800 - 04/11/1877), an Italian composer. He was born in Venice in 1800. An accomplished contrapuntalist, he studied cello and was a director of military bands. He cultivated at the same time an interest in the guitar, publishing several works for the instrument. These were generally arrangements or transcriptions of operatic airs, published by Ricordi around 1850. He died in Venice in 1877.
