Guillaume Despréaux -born as Guillaume Ross- (1801/1803 - after 1838), a French composer, born in Clermont-Ferrand. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with François-Joseph Fétis and Henri Montan Berton. In 1828 Despréaux won with the Cantate Herminie the Premier Grand Prix de Rome. He wrote a Requiem and a Dies Irea.
