Frantisek Doubravský (07/02/1790 - 28/04/1867), a Czech composer (from Popelkou). He spent all his adult life as a teacher, composer and music director in Lomnice and Popelkou, where was born and also died. His works were much played and sought during his life, almost falling into oblivion, however, after his death. Just an accidental find of some of his autographs made it possible to study and interpret anew a number of his composition, which were accepted with much interest by the public. A clear picture of Doubravský´s work is presented in his Catalogue, which he used to keep a chronological and thematic list of spiritual (73 masses, 13 requiems, 5 Stabat Mater, 11 Te Deum, Litanies, etc) and also secular works (4 symphonies, violin concerto etc.), these, however, have not been found yet. His music is perverded with musical ideas showing typical Czech melodiousness, and well accessible to the wide public.
