Bradley Ellingboe (16/04/1958), an American composer, born in Farmington (Minnesota). He is an active conductor, singer, teacher, composer, and scholar. Currently Director of Choral Activities at the University of New Mexico, Professor Ellingboe conducts the university's Concert Choir, the women's ensemble known as "Las Cantantes" and the 140-voice University Chorus. He is also Director of Music at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albuquerque. Ellingboe has performed as a bass-baritone soloist across the United States as well as in England, Germany, Austria, Norway, Mexico, Japan, and Korea. He has been a soloist under such notable conductors as Robert Shaw, Gregg Smith, Helmuth Rilling and Sir David Willcocks. His choral music is widely sung and is published by Oxford, Augsburg Fortress, Hal Leonard, Mark Foster, Concordia, Chorister's Guild and Kjos Music, for whom he oversees two choral series. From 1990-93 he held the Regents' Lectureship at the University of New Mexico, the highest award granted to a younger faculty member. Ellingboe is the editor of two books of songs by the Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. These have been widely hailed as significant additions to the understanding of Grieg and his music. For his efforts on behalf of Norwegian music, he was awarded the Medal of Saint Olav ("Sankt Olavs Medaljen") by His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.
