Albín Mašek [Albin Maschek] (10/10/1804 - 24/03/1878), a Czech organist and composer, choir director of the main parish church on the Týn in Prague, born and died in Prague. He came from the Mašk musical family. He was the youngest son of organist and music composer Vincenc Mašek and brother of composer Kašpar Mašek. His uncle was the organist and music composer Pavel Lambert Mašek. He received his basic musical education from his father. He studied cello at the Prague Conservatory , but did not finish his studies. He taught singing and playing the piano and represented his father in the choir at St. Nicholas in Prague. He became choir director and organist in the church of St. Tomáš and gradually replaced other Prague churches ( St. Peter's Church in Poříčí , Church of Our Lady before Týnem ), he was choirmaster in the Jerusalem Synagogue and finally in 1859 he replaced his father in the choir at St. Mikuláš, where he remained until his death in 1878.
