Eskil Hemberg (19/01/1938 - 29/06/2004), a Swedish composer and conductor, born in Stockholm. Member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He worked as a freelance composer and choral director, as well as president of the International Federation for Choral Music.
During the spring of 2000: The Pearson Distinguished Professor in Swedish Studies at Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas, USA, and president of the International Music Council of UNESCO 1992-94, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music since 1974. And since 1999 until his death in 2004 president of the IFCM (International Federation of Choral Music).
