Bill Kraft -born Kraftashevsky- (06/09/1923 - 12/02/2022), an American composer, conductor, percussionist, and teacher, born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the principal timpanist, percussionist and composer-in-residence for the Los Angeles Philharmonic during the tenure of conductors Zubin Mehta and Carlo Maria Giulini. His Timpani Concerto is widely performed in international venues.
