Peter Benoit (17/08/1834 - 08/03/1901), a Belgian composer (born in Harelbeke). He is being considered as the chief promotor of the Flemish musical movement. He gained de Prix de Rome in 1857.
Requiem
It is for a little choir, a big choir and orchestra. Benoit didn't use all requiem parts and it isn't meant for a Catholic sevice. However, it is considered as a deep religious work.
It contains: - Requiem aeternam & Kyrie eleison 10:40 - Dies irae 15:55 - Sanctus & Benedictus 10:35 - Agnus Dei 12:45.
