Adalbert Überlee [also: Ueberlee (or Ueberlex?)] (27/06/1837 - 15/03/1897), a German composer and organist; born in Berlin, died Berlin-Charlottenburg, Germany.
Felix Wilhelm (Adalbert) Ueberlex (27/06/1837 - aft.1890), a German composer, organist and cantor, pupil at the Conservatorium and the royal institute for church music in Berlin ; won prizes in 1862 and 1864, and made a study
trip to Italy in 1864-65. On his return he became organist at the Bartholomiius-Kirche, in 1866 at the Dorotheenstildtische Kirche, and in 1867 vocal instructor at the Louiseustadtische Gewerbschule. He is also conductor of the Dorothea vocal society. Works : Egmont, opera ; Karin, do.; Weiberlist, comic opera ; Das Wort Gottes, oratorio, 1872; Golgotha, do., 1878 ; Te Deum ; Requiem, 1873 ; Stabat Mater, 1874 ; Choruses for male and mixed voices ; Songs ; Pianoforte pieces, etc.

to count. The same wrote the following major church
compositions:
1. 1864 a "Te deum laudamus" for solo, Choir and Orchestra, which with the Michael Beer'schen Prizes, consisting of a study trip to Italy, primarily Rome (on the part of the Royal Academy to Berlin), was crowned. — 2. "The Word of God," a canon tate, composed in 1871; one that fills the evening (lasting 2½ hours), in the large oratorio style holding work. (Performed in March 1872 on the Sing- Academy in Berlin). The text is by R. Stechow, Preacher at the Dorotheenstadt church. The Work contains solos, choirs, double choirs (fugues, double fugues\ — 3. "Requiem aeternam" for solo and choir a capella, mostly voices, comp, in 1873. (Performed -for the first time in November 1873 in the Dorotheen- municipal church). — The Requiem especially enjoys a favorable one Recording. The works are polyphonic throughout wrote He strictly borrows from what is already there avoided, hence more of a modern-realistic than strict ecclesiastical spirit pervades the compositions. 4. "Stabat mater" for solo and choir a cappella, mostly for 8 voices, composed in 1873. (Performed for the first time on Good Friday 1874). — 5. "Golgotha", oratorio for Good Friday Oratorio style, for SoU, choir and large orchestra composed in 1878 (January and February). (On- led on Good Friday, April 18, 1878, to first times.
