Arnaud Dumond
1952 -
France
Arnaud Dumond (1952), a French guitarist and composer. This Paris-born musician (1952) was only ten when he began to compose and
play the guitar and the piano. Arnaud Dumond did enjoy the tuition of such
diverse figures as Yepes, Pujol, J.Williams, and with Alberto Ponce at the
Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. He always combined the activities of composer and guitarist, as though
composing was a consolation for the short-lived nature of performing, and
playing provided a reminder that music is intended for a living audience. He
appeared on the cover of major guitar magazines in England, France, USA and
was classified among the most innovative musicians of his generation.
