Tomás Ochando
c.1725 - c.1799
Mexico
Tomás Ochando (ca.1725 - ca. 1799; flourished middle of 18th century), a Mexican composer.
Parce mihi
Tomás Ochando wrote a Parce Mihi (Leccion Primera De La Vigilia De Difuntos).
Despite the fact that Ochando's music reveals a prominent figure of the Spanish 18th century, historiography has left the composer almost forgotten. Today there are only two published works, his Mass in D Major and his Office and Mass for the Dead ; and a single recorded piece, the Parce Mihi Domine , first lesson for the departed . Editing and interpreting his music remains an outstanding debt of musicology. ♫ Parce Mihi © Urtext UMA 2015.
